These days it feels as though we’re spinning out of control. Merely stop listening to the news doesn’t stop the feeling of being traumatized by overwhelm and fear, bombarded at every turn!
Here are 5 ways I have been using that help.
- Claim your calm. Call forth your higher self. Simply think of it and allow yourself to connect with it immediately. Don’t judge yourself if you don’t feel it. Just consent to bring it forth by assuming it’s already within you, operating to help you – because it is.
- Claim your power. Recognize the immense qualities that come with your higher self. Claim them now as you read from the list of the words below. Each of them represents energies of high frequencies that are working in your behalf. See which one feels most helpful and simply allow it to be with you.
Balance, order, calm, grounding, stability, peace, composure, strength, ability to flow and let go, resilience, and order.

- Claim your bigness. Know that in all the intensity with your life feeling out of control, you are greater than all the extremes, fears, and negative forces you are feeling. Gently allow yourself to come into your greater bigness. There is a quickening taking place. You are simply to allow yourself to go higher. Let it happen now.
- Claim your heart’s longings. What does your heart most need? Sit with this and resonate with it for a few moments. Here’s a simple way to be with your heart:
- Take a moment to come back to yourself and breathe slowly and deeply, while enjoying each breath. Sigh.
- Do it again.
- Sit still. Be with your sweet heart.
- Go lightly now. Be easy on yourself. You need it.
- Claim your efforts are worthwhile. One of the most important things you can do for yourself is to watch for negative, sabotaging thoughts that say any of the following:
- This is too simple. It won’t work!
- This is too boring. I’ve tried all that stuff before!
- I’m way past this point. I need a drink!
- I’m completely overwhelmed, and I can’t do this by myself!
Allow yourself to shift your energies out of feeling so bad. Shift into claiming within yourself that your efforts are indeed worthwhile. This will help you come into a better place, help your nervous system to calm, and your heart to rise in greater peace. This brief practice will work for you over and over. You deserve it!
