The Income of a Self-realized Fisherman

If a person earns his living as a fisherman, he is under the impression that his income is always produced by the number of fish he catches. His income will be no greater than this and always limited by this number, which may vary on any given day, depending on how fortunate he is that day. This is the consciousness of one who believes what he sees, and strongly believes in ”form.”

So if the fish aren’t running, or he can’t be in the right place at the right time, or the water is polluted, or there are too many other fishermen fishing the same waters, the “form” speaks of lack and limitation. And this, the fisherman believes, is his state of supply.

However, if the fisherman realizes that first and foremost he is from a divine origin, and that he can believe the inner Voice that leads his life, he can live outside of “form,” & outside the confines of what he sees, counts up, and the amount available to him from the one source of income.

This self realized person is then, not identified or limited by fish – not the current fish market, not by the waters, the competition, or the number of fish he catches. He is also not waiting for anything to improve, or for his turn to succeed.

This self-realized person is subject to one law only. He is governed not by the law of fish (external form), but by the law of God (internal, true substance). By this realization the fisherman can depend on the fact that the abundance will be provided – always – and all his needs will be met – always. His supply may not be according to the tidy outline of the fisherman’s idea of how it will occur, but it will be according to divine law, which has forever provided for the fisherman throughout all eternity. This is an unchanging fact.

The divine law that the self-realized fisherman relies on may provide in infinite and prolific ways, even beyond the imagination of the fisherman.

It could provide by having the price of fish rise so that the limited number of fish caught may now be worth more. It could provide by a generous gift of inheritance, or an easy loan during lean times. It could provide by personal household needs being met in surprising ways, other than fish income. There are unlimited ways that the fisherman can be provided for, because his source is divine and unlimited.

As long as he looks to his true, infinite Source of all his eternal supply (beyond fish and fish/water conditions), he will be able to rest in a place of holiest realm.

In this resting place, he is appointed divine Witness to God’s Presence and power under all circumstances and conditions.

He is enabled to be Seer of the infinite power of Good, and the unending extent of its borderless presence.

He is the One created by divine Love to hold the space that all good is possible to God at every moment throughout eternity.

He is the Knower of a Source beyond form, beyond matter, beyond human circumstance – a Source whose abundance provides continually in all ways and in all circumstances in a continual, prolific manner.

He is united with his true vision, his true understanding of all Reality to be of a different nature than what appears to be. And in his true vision, he sees as God sees – endless overflowing, profusely outpouring abundance for all.

And the self-realized man knows this to be the one certain thing in his life that he can count on to be absolutely true, forever. This gives him joy and comfort and peace that passes all understanding.
