No matter what you think you’re doing – working, playing, running around – there’s a path of spiritual discovery going on deep within you. Are you aware of it? Do you know, for example, what you’re discovering?
Whatever it is that is your current spiritual discovery, you, most likely, won’t know unless it’s either near emergency levels or you’re pausing (like now) to reflect. Let’s do that together.
Let’s go past the superficial layers of what’s showing up on your calendar, the hours you spend on social media responding to everyone, the list of “to do’s,” and what else fills your life and time.
In fact, let’s go past what your emotions are running about all this. What’s concerning you about money, love, or getting your needs met. I guarantee you, there’s a whole other life taking place that is running the whole show.
I’m passionate about the path of spiritual discovery and presently, here’s what I’m discovering. Maybe this will help you to see your deeper layers too.
Three times now, I’ve gotten a message from tv interviews or other sources that there’s a new book about near death and it’s written by an M.D. who was a skeptic. The third time I became aware of it, I immediately downloaded the book and started to read. I knew, intuitively, that there was something in the book that would feed my hunger to know beyond the 3-D realm. (BTY, it’s called, “Proof of Heaven,” and it’s been a long time since a book fed me. Maybe this is a new trend. Hope so!)
Here’s what I’ve discovered. First of all, the path of spiritual discovery always brings me great joy. (Isn’t this what we all are seeking, happiness?)
And, secondly, the author’s account of near death reveals further personal confirmation that life continues after this realm. I love this message! And also his experience reminds me that consciousness is greater than the brain and not dependent on it. It reveals consciousness as the creator of our experience. I can soar on these discoveries for days.
Why else is this so thrilling to me? Because it’s an indication that truth is growing and spreading – and still true. We’ve hit the critical mass stage where there’s no stopping it. What used to be taboo is now sought after as truth. As the layers of ignorance and judgment have fallen in our collective consciousness, we can more freely explore hidden areas once denied us.
Here’s another personal discovery.
The outer layer looks like I am enjoying my one year old grandson. What does the deeper, spiritual level reveal? One, that love connects through barriers of age. My grandson even has a spectacular relationship of fun and play with my mother who is now 92. Think about it. What would you talk to a 92 year old about? Yet, their hearts connect over barriers of 91 years and have them laughing together and continually. It’s fun!
As I enjoy our shared love with my grandson, I notice how full my heart is, how much love he exudes, and how much love there is! It confirms to me that love is the only thing worth living for. I walk away remembering to focus on love everywhere else in my life, knowing that this is the one focus that continues to give back to me life meaning, purpose, and richness of joy. Entering my grandson’s lovely world and consciousness, I see time stand still. And with a little playfulness and attention and lots of smiles, we come together over and over again to laugh and play and experience the deep, living, full connection of loving with our hearts.
It’s love that we all live for. It’s love that heals our negativity, lifts our spirits to new heights, and gives us hope. It’s love alone that fills our emptiness and isolation. Love gives meaning to every relationship in my life, whether a family member, a friend, a spouse, or a stranger. Love is what connects us and the one thing we all have in common. There is no one in your life who doesn’t need your love or who doesn’t wish for more of it. There’s no one in your life who would turn down your heart pouring out love to them.
There’s no greater medicine than love. It heals all the aches and pains of life. It brings joy to our hearts and cancels all that is wrong.
Both of these examples of my spiritual discoveries have many more levels to explore, which will continue to give back to me over and over.
What are you discovering beneath the surface of your activities, thoughts, and feelings?
Often, there’s a steady stream of inner talk that negates everything we do. It creates self-hate, telling us we aren’t enough and everyone else is better or has it easier. Or it tells us how hurt we are, afraid we are, or worried we are about failing.
What are your inner thoughts? How are these running your life? How can you go past these and gain the real meaning, adding to your joy?
Begin simply. What are you noticing that is bringing you richness or adding joy to your life? Maybe it was in the past. Or, maybe you don’t know what brings you joy. Maybe you first need to stop the clamor of the noise of negative inner talk. You can do that in the next few minutes.
If you stop, listen, and wait for it, it will come to you what it is that sets you on fire. That’s your deep, inner voice of spiritual discovery. It will bring you amazing joy. Listen to that voice. Follow it. Let it reveal to you the discoveries that await you!
This is the way to peel back layers of spiritual discovery.
