The Dawning of the Power of Womanhood

Last weekend, sitting in a large audience watching a circus-horse show, Liberte, I was struck by what I saw. It transported me to a new place that I’d never been before – especially in viewing the relationship between humans and horses.

The show gave beautiful insight into emerging womanhood & her graceful power. Beautiful white Andalusia’s, Arabians, and others, flying into the arena without any bridles or ropes to control them. Running free! I thought to myself, “I’ve never seen this picture before. What’s different about this?” I needed to name it.

I continued to watch. No ropes, whips, yelling, and no force being used. No domination over the animal. It was spectacular and I was awestruck by the beauty of the horses in the wild. Even my one year old grandson, who sat next to me being held by his parents, sat in awe of what he saw – for two solid hours.

My dawning came when a woman horse trainer named Sylvia Zerbini (see pictures) came out with 8 white, gorgeous horses running around the arena freely. Almost effortlessly she got them to make formations, even standing shoulder-to-shoulder with each of their necks and heads resting on the other’s back. The audience went, “Ah!” What was I seeing that was different? It almost felt surrealistic.

There’s a serious and huge side to all of this.

In the last year, movies I used to want to see, I didn’t attend. The reason is they had mostly male casts. No women except in subordinate and insignificant roles. I want to see women and not in just romantic roles. I found myself yearning for more womanhood.

I recently listened to a Mayan elder, Don Alejandro, who brings the Mayan message of this period. He reminds us that we are at the end of the Mayan calendar, the end of the last “long year” marking 5,200 years. It marks a new beginning and one which promises to be different on earth in many ways.

One of the big ways is that we are quickly moving back to the sacredness of life. We’re tired of destroying life and earth. We’re done with wars and weapons and racism and isolation from each other. We’re tired of a patriarch society.

Womanhood has been suppressed for centuries. As the feminine energies rise to birth a new world (even within the men), we will notice a gentler way of being, while still through power – only without force. The feminine gives rise to the language of the heart through compassion and understanding. She holds life sacred. We won’t be able to continue to send our sons and daughters into wars which don’t make any sense.

The spirit of the feminine brings healing as well as love. We long to unite and stop fighting and competing. It’s time for women to share power with men and to invite each other to govern in a new way – one that mends, one that listens, one that speaks with a new voice where everyone equally matters. It’s time for men to help protect the feminine as they need to have these energies activated within themselves as well, for deep nurturing and healing.

The spirit of the feminine brings balance to earth, harmony into homes and communities, and celebration of each other’s value. It feels good.

Be prepared to let go of old traditions. Allow yourself to release and allow changes for the better. Offer this time your blessing, prayers, and a sweeter voice. Help to usher in the inevitable good that we came to claim for ourselves, our families, nations, and for each other.

We are entering a new cosmic era rapidly approaching with the Solstice Dec 21st, just days away. It has been prophesied to be the beginning of a Golden Age. An enormous amount of new energies are arriving.

Have you noticed the changes? It helps when we try to put them into words. They’re subtle yet pervasive. They’re good news for us all. When we speak of the subtle changes, bringing them out into the open, it helps us to incorporate them more easily and unite in them. That’s why I’m writing this blog for you today – to bring the subtle into the open and claim it for us all. This will help us to adapt to the wonderful changes.

Last week, I saw a rainbow arc covering the entire sky from south to north. When I saw it, I thought to myself, “Thank you. This is a sign of promise & new hope!” Then, there was another synchronicity. At the end of my Zumba class, the teacher ended with the Israel “IZ” Kamakawiwo’ole rendition of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow,” my favorite song (listen to the song). Another rainbow sign of hope.

There are signs everywhere of a new beginning for us all. Are you noticing them?
