Moving Forward After Loss of a Loved One

How can you cope when you lose a loved one?

As a past life regression facilitator, I recall one of my clients, Henry, had to face many losses from those he deeply loved. I was especially interested in learning how he overcame his losses.

One of his past lives opened up where he was a soldier during WWII. Standing in a freezing cold winter scene in Germany, he was stranded as he stood by a small, inadequate fire outside. It was too late. The opposing army was arriving within minutes. The next scene moved quickly where he was lying in the snow, with last thoughts and love being felt strongly for his wife, mom, and brother back home. I could feel the deep connection and sadness within him as he poured out his love to each one.

Also, a second past life was about the loss of another loved one. They were soul mates, and she was the love of his life. He said that what he most loved about her was her soul. This is one of the deepest loves you can share. As the past life progressed, Henry had to go away for a while and they planned to be back together when he returned. However, he was delayed and before he returned, she died. He never saw her again. He told me that he went on with his life without her but that he always felt her with him, and he would always love her.

Then, another past life opened where again it was about another soul mate, who he said was his secondary soul mate. Soul mates often share many past lives together. Soul mates hold an immensely strong, soulful bond and they help each other with their life purposes. In this past life, Henry was in charge of building an important wall of defense in the Mediterranean when he looked up and saw her coming towards him. It was instant love. Henry was thrilled to see her and he was smiling from ear to ear! However, they were together only a short while before he had to leave the area and she stayed behind. Another loss!

It’s unusual to see several past lives in just one session. I was curious about why his Spirit Guide had led him to past lives which all had a common theme of losing a beloved. With each of the women, the attraction was soul based.

When he entered Spirit World, following the review of these past lives, he met his Spirit Guide, Ray. We asked Ray for what purpose Henry had been shown these particular past lives.

It was revealed that Henry was learning how to let go of deep love connections. It required great strength.

At the end of our session. Henry said that something dark had lifted from him. He had shed tears several times during the regression. Sometimes we carry over sadness or grief from a past life, especially with those who we deeply love and were separated from. It’s hard to move through it.

Over a lifetime, unfortunately, most of us will have to experience the loss of a deep love that we hold for someone. It’s one of the hardest things we have to face, and it can be a turning point in our lives. Either we become stronger or something within ourselves may begin to die as we give up. Our massive loss presents an opportunity to grow. Moving through grief and fear, we have an opportunity to get stronger. It’s important that we do.

I had an insight about Henry after our session together. During his regression, I became aware that, in each past life, the quality of his love was tremendously deep and passionate. It takes courage to love with such gusto! Perhaps he gained that courage over time by having to face loss over and over, lifetime after lifetime. It enabled him to love fully, without abandonment. How many of us can say we do that?

Over a period of lifetimes, Henry learned valuable lessons about facing and grieving his losses, gaining strength to go on after a loss of a beloved, and finding courage to love again.

Our departed loved ones want us to continue to live life, find happiness, and move on. You too may have experienced multiple lifetimes where you had to face loss and separation from a loved one. Somehow you found a way and you did it.

Whether you have ever had a past life regression or not (I was in my late 60’s when I had this soul opening experience), make the assumption that you have had many past lives and that the lessons you have learned in them are giving you support, strength, and understanding in this life.

We can draw deeply on our soul and its past lives for strength that resides within. Make the assumption that you have this strength. Also make the assumption that in having to go through loss, you are never alone. We’re all in this together.
